Pv-value

Pv-value calculator

PV-value express the load capacity of the sliding bearings. It is defined as the combination effect of the pressure of the object and the velocity at which it moves on the bearing surface. It is an estimation of the resistance capacity of the material against the frictional heating.
Lower PV value is suggested to be used during design to ensure longer service life of the bearing.
The calculator provide the PV-value (Pressure x sliding velocity) for several cases: Bushing rotation, oscillation and reciprocation; washer thrust rotation and oscillation; and plate reciprocation.It is recommended to check the values of pressure, velocity and pv-value for the studied material.

Forces in clamping levers with eccentrical clamps

Forces in clamping levers with eccentrical clamps

The calculator provide the force in manual clamping levers. A friction value will be assumed for the axis of rotation and the circumference of the eccentric. This friction values will have an important impact at the result of the clamping force.

Linear thermal expansion calculator

Linear thermal expansion calculator

The calculator uses the formula:

ΔL=L·α·ΔT

If is needed to calculate another material that is not included in the table, the calculator has a row (Other material) where the user can introduce the new linear temperature expansion coefficient (α).
