Cylinder air consumption

Cylinder air consumption

This calculator is valid for simple and double effect. For simple effect the value provide by the calculatorĀ  has to be divided by 2.
Leakage is not taken into the calculator.

Centrifugal force

Centrifugal force

Centrifugal force is the inertia force that arises in each rotating object. It is only required in a rotating reference frame – or, in other words, when we look at the system from the point of view of the object in motion.

F=mcdot frac{v^{2}}{R}

F: the force

m: the mass of the object

v: the velocity

R: the radius

Mass moments of inertia calculator

Mass moments of inertia calculator

TheĀ moment of inertia, otherwise known as theĀ angular massĀ orĀ rotational inertia,Ā Ā is a measure of an object’s resistance to change in rotation direction. Moment of Inertia has the same relationship to angular acceleration as mass has to linear acceleration.

  • Moment of Inertia of a body depends on theĀ distribution of massĀ in the body with respect to theĀ axis of rotation

For aĀ point massĀ the Moment of Inertia is the mass times the square of perpendicular distance to the rotation reference axis and can be expressed as

I = m r2Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā Ā Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā

Where

IĀ = moment of inertia (kg m2)

mĀ = mass (kg)

rĀ = distance between axis and rotation mass (m)

Thread runouts

Thread runouts for metric ISO threads

DINĀ 76-1

For fine threads the dimension of the thread runout is chosen according to the pitch P.

1)As a general rule, apply if no other entries are given.

2)IApply if a shorter thread runout is necessary.

3)Apply if a longer thread runout is necessary.

Pv-value

Pv-value calculator

PV-value express the load capacity of the sliding bearings. It is defined as the combination effect of the pressure of the object and the velocity at which it moves on the bearing surface. It is an estimation of the resistance capacity of the material against the frictional heating.
Lower PV value is suggested to be used during design to ensure longer service life of the bearing.
The calculator provide the PV-value (Pressure x sliding velocity) for several cases: Bushing rotation, oscillation and reciprocation; washer thrust rotation and oscillation; and plate reciprocation.It is recommended to check the values of pressure, velocity and pv-value for the studied material.

Bolt tensile strength

The strength of standard ISO metric steel bolts is readily identified by means of a numerical code.

The code is comprised of two numbers separated by a dot. This dot is not a decimal marker but is merely a means of separating the two parts of the code. The number to the left of the dot when multiplied by 100 provides an indication of the Ultimate Tensile Strength (in MPa) while the number to the right when multiplied by 10 times the preceeding number gives the Yield Strength (in MPa)

Example: 8.8
Tensile Strength
8 x100 = 800MPa

Yield Strength
8 x 8 x 10 = 640 MPa
